What do Clinicians who use the Haemoband Plus think about the system? Well, our research shows us, time and time again, that they like the ease of use, the consistent reliability and the effectiveness of the device.
We asked Mr Tapas Chaterjee MBBS, AFRCSI, Associate Specialist Endoscopy, Roscommon University Hospital, Saolta Group and Locum Consultant, Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland for his opinion.
“I have been using Haemoband Plus for around 12 years and was pleased when I first discovered the product because of the unreliability and cumbersome way in which other banding systems worked.
I prefer the Haemoband Plus system because the banders are long enough to give you an unobstructed view before firing, the suction can be well controlled, and the bands can be deployed safely following a visual and tactile check.
In general, I use this system on 2nd degree Haemorrhoids. I find it easy to use particularly with a moderate suction – I use 150 mmHg – as I find a high suction counter- productive.
In my experience the type of proctoscope is particularly important to a successful band application as the narrow type can obliterate the view after the first band; an illuminated, bevelled tip wide proctoscope is ideal
I am happy to recommend Haemoband Plus to my trainees and other colleagues as I find it a safe, reliable and effective device.” said Mr Chaterjee.
